IOS 8 : what we know

 iOS 8: The next new version of the Apple OS system is expected this year . Increased, sharp integration with connected cars and overhaul Maps reality should be at the rendezvous .

iOS 8 should be presented in June at the time of the event Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC ) 2014 Apple. He will succeed the latest version of Apple's mobile OS (iOS 7) , which is available from 18 September 2013 .

A new burst of information about the future of Apple mobile OS , iOS 8 was relayed early March by 9to5Mac and GigaOM . Among the expected improvements , we should find an overhaul of the app Maps mapping should incorporate new technologies and data from BroadMap , Embark and HopStop recently acquired by Apple. Thanks to them, Maps should improve reliability but also incorporate new points of interest and headings (labels ) clearer.

Augmented program iOS 8 reality

Routes of public transport (bus, metro ... ) should also make their appearance for the biggest cities as the locations of bus stops and station entrances . Apple also work on a feature augmented reality using the compass of the iPhone to show points of interest nearby . In addition , iOS 8 should be great emphasis on health information and activity to surf the latest trend in terms of connected objects .

Among other indiscretions this next version portend improvements in size . Program tracks mentioned: the latest voice recognition system Siri, and increased integration with embedded computer systems , especially in connected cars .

About Siri , Apple would available to developers programming interfaces (API) of the solution to allow third party applications to take advantage . However, their use would be restricted to certain categories of applications (weather, news ... ) .

iOS in connected cars , a reality in 2014

Among the other tracks mentioned in the context of developing iOS 8: integrated advanced mobile OS with Apple connected cars . Development that would fit into the continuity of projects currently expects Apple iOS 7 in 2014. In December 2013 , Apple has also announced the beta 2 of iOS 7.1 the arrival of the Car Display function to connect the mobile device to iOS onboard vehicle system to access different applications ( voice commands, messaging, music ... ) .

The ability to interact via iPhone 5 with computer systems and communication vehicles gradually becomes a reality and should flourish with iOS 8. For example, allowing the vehicle display multimedia display a route and guide the driver who received through a message ( email , SMS ... ) on his phone , a destination address .

Several manufacturers also work with Apple to integrate some models opportunities for interaction with iOS . This is the case of Honda, Mercedes- Benz , Renault -Nissan , Ferrari, Chevrolet , Hyundai, Kia , Volvo, Opel or Jaguar.

8 iOS launched jointly with the iPhone 6

No official date yet has so far been revealed for iOS 8. However, a launch in 2014 coupled with the release of iPhone 6 remains highly probable, if one relies on the timing of previous launches of Apple products.

An opportunity at least for the group to offer with iOS 8 innovations able to attract users , many stayed on their hunger with iOS 7 . Such as the ability to change certain default apps (browser, email manager , mapping ... ) , managing multi- account , give the option to uninstall apps present by default , supporting widgets ... Finally , iOS 8 could also introduce apps pulling part of the arrival of NFC , still missing the last iPhone 5S and 5C .
